Hi there,
It's been great to be back at our Kick it 4 Kids classes, keeping active and embracing the Autumn Vibes. Our themed weekly classes have had us talking about hibernation, the colour of the leaves, apple picking and more.
Look at these SUPERSTAR footballers who picked up Buzz the Bees award this term. Awarded for concentration, bravery, listening and trying new football skills. You definitely showed Buzz that you CAN kick it!
Meanwhile in my Grassroots role, I had the privilege of watching Evie McDermott start her referee career in an U12 match where AFC Urmston's Gladiators took on Sale Communities JFC Harriers at Flixton Girls School. Great to watch and see our Meds footballers becoming referees. It's so important for women in football to support each other as the FA's See it to be it campaign shouts about. Well done Evie!
My U9 Tornadoes stood united in support of the FA's Play Safe weekend wearing their armbands in support of the campaign which is ran with the NSPCC. The informative Safeguarding Awareness for parents and carers online course was received well from our U9 squad with the following comments from parents...
"It was a really useful course, football specific examples were helpful"
"Really informative and insightful"
Thanks to all that took part.
We finished the busy weekend with our First International Friendly, playing AFC Belgrave who had come over from Ireland to enjoy the Manchester City game. 100 footballers took part - all taking away a medal to remember the day! Thanks to Fives Trafford for hosting this fantastic afternoon.
As we move to our winter term of Kick it 4 Kids and the temperature starts to drop it's time to get the big scarf out and it has to be a rainbow one of course. Excited for our Christmas themed sessions on the run up to the big day, including the elves workshop, making snowmen and hopefully meeting Mr Claus in class.
Thanks for reading.
Coach Rachel
